The Bigger Picture

The Telford and Wrekin Open 2007

This picture was taken at the foot of the Wrekin,which is just outside of Wellington,Shropshire.
It came about as I pulled over to the side of the road reviewing some pictures I had just taken,the gentleman in the picture walked past me, as he approached the junction with the road sign visable I thought it would be a nice image . I took 4 shots and this one was the best. In the original picture the colour was very washed out due to the poor light and snow, so I change it to black and white, which I felt gave it more atmosphere.
I have subsequently spoken to the gentleman and asked him who he was, and why for years i have seen him walking all over Wellington?
Well his name is JOE and he is a retired postman who can not stop walking.I still see him regularly walking all around Wellington come rain or shine and snow.
